哈利王子与梅根在接受欧普拉（Oprah Winfrey）的专访中爆料英国王室担忧儿子亚契的肤色问题等爆炸性宣言，让不少英国人气炸，痛批这些言论是对女王的「背叛」，呼吁王室撤销两人萨塞克斯公爵和公爵夫人（Duke and Duchess of Sussex）的头衔。
在欧普拉的专访中，哈利王子与梅根公开不少与英国王室的冲突内幕，包括王室担心亚契（Archie）出生后的「肤色会有多深」等涉及种族歧视的问题，以及爆料凯特在梅根婚礼前把她惹哭、查尔斯王子（Prince Charles）拒绝接哈利电话、想不开的梅根求助王室却被拒绝等内幕。
英国《每日邮报》（Daily Mail）报导，哈利、梅根的爆炸性专访内容让不少英国人气炸了，英国名嘴摩根（Piers Morgan）砲轰这场专访「绝对是对女王及王室家族的可耻背叛」，痛批梅根满口自私自利的邪恶谬论，批评哈利像这样让梅根推翻自己的家人、君主制度相当可耻，指出哈利的行为是希望美国及全世界痛恨自己的家族、君主制、以及自己的国家。

不少网友也有同感，除了建议女王撤销两人头衔外，一名网友更进一步建议排除哈利继承王位的顺位，禁止他们参加所有王室活动、以及不再提供任何经济支持，「哈利一点也不在乎他的家人，而梅根只在乎受关注及钱。」
不过美国人的反应和英国人恰恰相反，专访内容普遍受到美国观众的支持，他们讚许这对夫妻「诚实」且相当「勇敢」。节目播出后，梅根的闺蜜、美国网球名将小威廉丝（Serena Williams）在推特讚赏梅根是「无私的朋友」，每天教导她什幺叫做「真正的高贵」。
